The 3rd school term started 24 July. 4 new teachers joined this term: Elaine van die Burgh (Blouvlei Academy) , Madene Karstens (Hoopland Academy) , Damon February and Jacolene Uys (Fynbos Academy).
RESA schools exists as a crucial part of the community and on the 25th July Jo-Ann Lewis from Stanford Social Services gave her support to the social problems at Hoopland.
Annie Ranger from Stanford Rotary sponsored rain coats to Hoopland Academy.
On the 3rd of August Shirley from Whale Coast Conservation along with some Gansbaai Academy students, visited Hoopland to chat to our learners about recycling and pollution.
The staff had a wonderful team building day at Langverwacht farm on the 8th of August.
Fynbos Academy’s Foundation Phase learners went on an outing to Gansbaai. They visited different people from the community to see what role they play.
On the 11th August some of the Hoopland Academy learners took to the streets of Stanford as part of awareness campaign. They handed out some fynbos bouquets.
Heather Graham donated quilts and artwork to Hoopland Academy.
Fynbos Academy and Hoopland Academy were the lucky recipients of books to add to their school library. Thanks to the Stanford Rotary club, who sourced these books from the UK.
In August the Blouvlei Academy learners took part in the Paarl Valley Eisteddfod. There were outstanding achievements.
On the 18 August we hosted a successful open day for Blouvlei Academy and Career School at the Stucki hall in Wellington.
On the 23rd August Blouvlei Academy had a visit from Eskom. The talk was about safety around electricity.
The Fynbos Career School students have been learning about the hospitality industry and baked scones as part of their studies.
On the 1st of September Fynbos Academy learners and teachers celebrated Spring day with a walk to the dam on the farm. There they enjoyed a well deserved ice cream.
The learners and staff from Blouvlei Academy also enjoyed the day and walked to the park in sunshine weather.
As we all celebrate arbour week. Overberg Agri donated trees to Hoopland and Fynbos Academy. Drankenstein Municipality held a tree planting ceremony in Paarl at Dal Josephat Stadium. Three Blouvlei Academy learners were lucky enough to attend the function.
On the 7th September Hoopland Academy had their term meeting with the parents.
On the 14th of September the grade R’s from Hoopland Academy had the privilege of visiting Panthera Africa outside Stanford. The children enjoyed it tremendously.

The 20th September Fynbos Academy were privilege to go to Kleinplasie Worcester and to eat a nice meal at the Wimpy in Worcester.
On the 21st September Jeandri Smith from ACVV Wellington visited Blouvlei to recap the latest news on social problems.
The Overstrand Junior Town Counsel visited Hoopland Academy and enjoyed an afternoon with the learners playing ball games.
On the 23rd September members of ALICT and the Dutch Reformed church in Wellington made sure that the Blouvlei Academy children and parents and staff enjoyed a wonderful Compassion day, while working, playing and fellow shipping together.
End of term had the children dress up in funny clothes , enjoying market day and do their last Spring walk in Stanford streets.
